Katoomba is one of the historic towns and is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. One of the most unique natural experiences of Katoomba is the Three Sisters' rock formation & its valleys which are enveloped with its famous blue haze emitted from the vast eucalypt forests.
Katoomba is locally known as being the CBD of the upper Mountains with its vast array of local businesses, restaurants and retail shopping. Additionally, the area acts as the nerve centre of the upper Mountains with access to the Blue Mountains City Council, the Visitor Information Centre at Echo Point, the Regional Art Centre, Tour Guides & Local Sports and Recreation teams.

Wentworth Falls has a good collection of Victorian and other historic buildings and excellent trails into the Blue Mountains National Park. It has been a tourist destination for 130 years and offers spectacular views into the Jamison Valley and the magnificent Wentworth Falls waterfall. Also worthy of mention is the stunning lake for recreational relaxation and its magnificent 18 hole Golf course.
Wentworth Falls also boasts its own micro-CBD with its collection of assorted village shops, cafes & restaurants, easily accessible public transport, and a wide variety of educational institutions for both adults and children.
